I find myself writing in my journal today, reflecting on the past three months and asking myself… It’s the end of March—what are you going to do when things don’t go as planned? Do you throw in the towel and start over next year? Or do you start over tomorrow? I thought of you, gorgeous… what would you have done?
We can all agree that most of the time, the things we wanted to happen do not go as planned. It’s easy to get caught up in the disappointment and beat ourselves up when life takes a different direction. But what about the things that did happen? Do we take the time to reflect on those moments and acknowledge them?
On my end, a lot has happened—more than I sometimes take the time to reflect on. So, here’s a little bit of what I’m celebrating:
I submitted my book “Unapologetically You” for publishing.
We successfully facilitated a Leadership Conference with an amazing turnout.
I got invited to several speaking engagements throughout the year.
I kept my contract hosting and facilitating workshops and seminars.
I spent valuable time with my family, even though it meant saying goodbye to my baby sister and honoring her with a beautiful resting place.
I made the bold and scary decision to give my 3-month notice at my full-time job to pursue my passion full-time.
We achieved record-breaking collections at the non-profit organization I am part of.
I gained clarity on what I truly want to focus on moving forward.
That’s just to name a few. A ton of achievements—but yes, there are also things that didn’t go as planned. And that’s okay. Reflection helps me see that life doesn’t always follow the path I envisioned, and that’s just part of the journey. Sometimes things happen for a reason, guiding us toward growth and new opportunities.
How Do I Move Forward?
-
Step back and reflect on what worked and what didn’t.
-
Identify areas for improvement and make adjustments.
-
Apply more of what worked and take one intentional step at a time.
-
Celebrate my progress, no matter how small.
-
Do it all over again.
And I challenge you, gorgeous, to do the same. Take a moment of reflection, write down your achievements, and then follow these five steps.
Three months down—let’s reflect, refocus, and conquer the next nine months together. Remember, it’s not about perfection—it’s about progress.
Share this with someone who could benefit from it, and comment below with your achievements! I’d love to cheer you on. 💪
