Unapologetically You: How to Stop Shrinking and Discover the Power Within

For years, I struggled with self-doubt, people-pleasing, and the feeling that I needed to shrink myself to fit into spaces I didn’t belong. I know I’m not alone in this. Many of us go through life questioning our worth, silencing our voices, and dimming our light to make others comfortable.

Unapologetically You: How to Stop Shrinking and Discover the Power Within is the book I wish I had years ago—the book that would have reminded me that confidence isn’t about being the loudest in the room; it’s about owning who you are, unapologetically.

I’m thrilled to share that Unapologetically You is now available for pre-order! And here’s something special—if you pre-order by February 28th, you’ll receive a signed copy as a thank-you for believing in this book before it officially launches.

Why Did I Decide to Write This Book?

Because I’ve lived it. I’ve felt the weight of self-doubt, the burden of perfectionism, and the fear of standing fully in my power. And I know so many others feel the same.

This book is my way of saying: You don’t have to live in that space anymore. You don’t have to keep questioning your worth. You don’t have to wait for permission to take up space.

This book is for the dreamer who’s afraid to step forward, the high achiever who still feels like they’re not enough, the person who gives so much to others but forgets to prioritize themselves. It’s for you, if you’ve ever felt like you were playing small in a life that was meant to be so much bigger.

More than anything, I’m always reminded of my mantra:
I am not here to change the world. I am here to change someone’s world—one person at a time.
If this book reaches just one person who needs it, then every challenge, every late-night writing session, every moment of doubt was worth it.

What Was the Hardest Part About Writing It?

Two things: being brutally honest and finding the time to actually write.

Vulnerability isn’t just about sharing stories—it’s about allowing yourself to be seen, flaws and all. Writing this book meant revisiting painful moments, uncovering old wounds, and putting parts of my journey on display that I once wanted to hide. That alone was challenging.

But then, there was the practical struggle—actually finding the time to sit down and write. At first, I made the book a priority, carving out space in my schedule with full intention. But as life happened, deadlines piled up, responsibilities grew, and writing started to feel like something I had to “squeeze in” instead of something I was fully present for. And of course, the more I squeezed it in, the longer it took to finish.

I even reached a point where I had to ask for help—something I don’t always do easily. I needed someone to remind me why I started, to hold me accountable, and to push me when I started making excuses. And I’m so grateful for those reminders.

I had to stop treating this book like just another task on my to-do list and start treating it like the mission it truly was. When I shifted my mindset and gave myself permission to make writing a non-negotiable again, the words started flowing.

Because here’s the truth: If you keep waiting for the perfect time to do something, it’ll never come. You have to make the time, even when it feels impossible.

How Did I Overcome the Fear of Criticism?

I won’t lie—it was terrifying at times. But I kept reminding myself of one truth: Someone out there needs to hear this. If even one person reads this book and feels seen, if one person realizes they are not alone in their struggles, then sharing my story was worth it.

Besides, criticism will always exist. The real question is: Will you let the fear of it keep you from showing up fully in your life? I refuse to let it hold me back, and I hope this book inspires you to do the same.

Because again—I am not here to change the world. I am here to change someone’s world. And if this book helps one person reclaim their confidence and power, then I’ve done what I set out to do.

What Is My Greatest Hope for This Book?

That it sparks transformation. Not in a surface-level, feel-good-for-a-moment kind of way, but in a deep, life-shifting way. I want readers to walk away not just knowing they are worthy and powerful, but feeling it—owning it in their bones.

I want this book to be a turning point for those who are ready to stop shrinking and start fully stepping into their power.

My Favorite Part of the Book?

Chapter 7: Do You Forgive You?

There’s something so freeing about learning to release shame and make peace with your past. In this chapter, I take you with me to a sunrise in San Diego, where I sat by the ocean, burying my feet in the sand and writing a letter of forgiveness to myself.

This chapter isn’t just about letting go of the past—it’s about embracing yourself fully, even the parts you once struggled to love.

Who Was This Book Written For?

For the high-achiever who still struggles with self-doubt.
For the person who’s spent years putting others first and is finally ready to choose themselves.
For the one who knows deep down they are meant for more but feels stuck, afraid, or unsure of how to move forward.

This book is for anyone who is ready to stop shrinking, own their voice, and step fully into their power.
